There are naturally occurring quality differences in the processing of a dermis across its surface, meaning that often only selected parts can be used in a particular application. Fatigue also often occurs during prolonged use, leading to wrinkling due to permanent elongation, the so-called “bagging”. By using bi-Tec® unwanted effects are significantly reduced. This ensures that heavily used seating furniture stays in shape permanently.

The use of our bi-Tec® products offers our customers a number of advantages:

• Long-term improved mechanical durability
  The laminated leather has a much higher mechanical strength and less wrinkling. This eliminates the need for additional reworking.

• More efficient material processing
  During the processing of leather, the elongation is uniformed over the entire hide. In addition, “wild” punching in a radius of 360° is possible.

• Simplified processing
  Subsequently, the stitching image becomes more precise, as the stitching holes are much less warped. The uniformity of the stretch and the associated dimensional stability make the sewn leather dresses more uniform and easier to position.

• Possible weight reduction while keeping the desired properties
  Tests have shown that the addition of bi-Tec® allows a thickness-optimized leather with a weight reduction of up to 40 %.

Combined use with products of the fire-Tec® series can also improve the burning behavior.
